Troop 204 -- Nearly A Century of Real Adventures for Real Scouts

Scouting is best when it involves real adventures, real challenges and builds life long memories.  Our Troop has been pursuing this tradition for over 80 years in Lafayette.

A few of our annual trips include:

The Ultimate Bucket List: Our Annual 50 Miler Backpacking Adventure

  • Annual 50 miler backpacking trip

  • Different location each year in the California Sierras.

  • All Scouts, 7th grade and up, participate

  • Scouts learn true backpacking skills

  • Each trip is planned and led by senior scouts

Ever Imagine Camping in Snow?  It's Amazing.

  • Have you ever been camping in the snow?

  • We do every year (when there is snow!)

  • An amazing, unforgettable experience

  • Build and sleep in your own quinzee snow cave

White Water Rafting, Kayaking and Canoeing

  • We go every year on a great water trip

  • White water rafting the American River

  • Kayaking in Monterey among seals and wildlife

  • Canoeing

Camping and Hanging Out

  • Camping is core to all of our activities

  • Hiking, outdoor cooking, campfire sing-a-longs

  • Skits, jokes and hanging out with friends

Camporee - The Annual Competition

  • Camporee is an annual competition among Troops in our region

  • We take it seriously...and our results show!

  • Fantastic fun and opportunity to mix it up with other scouts and friends.

Summer Camp

  • Our scouts love summer camp

  • Wonderful opportunity to do new activities (archery, shooting, horse back riding, biking, canoeing, camping) and earn merit badges

Just Being Boys

  • Scouting means extra laundry!

  • Nothing like getting dirty in the wilderness and washing off in a clear mountain lake.
